Game Recap:

RFK Stadium - The Redskins took advantage to two second-quarter turnovers to build a 14-0 lead and hang on to beat the Colts.

After a scoreless first quarter, it looked like Indianapolis was going to break out on top after driving to the Washington 19. That was until running back Roosevelt Potts fumbled after taking a swing pass and being hit by Kurt Gouveia. Darrell Green picked it up at the 21 and was gone in a flash. No Colt was within 30 yards of Green as he crossed the goal line.

Washington padded its lead with a 79-yard touchdown drive in the third quarter. A 19-yard run by Reggie Brooks got things started and then Rypien connected with Tim McGee for 42 yards to inside the Colt one. On the next play, Rypien finished the job, scoring a second touchdown on a sneak.

Note: Jeff George sets Colts records with 59 pass attempts (Jack Trudeau, 57 vs Jets, Nov 16, 1986) and 37 completions (Bert Jones, 36 vs Jets, Dec 15, 1974). Colts Reggie Langhorne has career-high 203 yards receiving.
