Game Recap:

RFK Stadium - The Redskins got a touchdown on a two-yard toss from Billy Kilmer to Mike Thomas in the third period to slip past the Falcons. Both teams missed numerous scoring opportunities during this sloppy affair.

A pass interference call considerably aided the Redskins' touchdown drive. After the call on linebacker Greg Brezina, the home team had a first and ten at the Atlanta 28. A pass from Kilmer to Charley Taylor carried to the nine and Kilmer flipped the ball to Thomas for the score three plays later to make it 10-3. After that Atlanta twice drove deep into Washington territory but mustered just and field goal.
