Game Recap:

Veterans Stadium - Mark Moseley booted a 29-yard field goal with 12:49 elapsed in overtime gave the Redskins the win in Philadelphia. Eddie Brown set up the winning kick when the intercepted a pass and returned it to the Eagles 22.

The Eagles built a 10-0 lead but Washington stored back to go up 17-10 early in the third period. That held until late in regulation Philly’s game-tying, 41-yard TD pass from Mike Boryla to Charley Smith came on fourth and six with 1:07 to play.

Neither team mounted much of a threat during most of overtime and a tie seemed a distinct possibility until Brown picked off Boryla's pass at the Philadelphia 30 and returned it eight yards. Calvin Hill ran twice to the four, but a holding penalty pushed them back to the 14. After a two-yard run, Moseley was called in and his kick split the uprights.
