Game Recap:

RFK Stadium - Larry Brown ran for 148 yards to become the Redskins’ all-time leading rusher and Jerry Smith caught two touchdown passes to lead the Skins.

The special teams got into the act as well, scoring a touchdown for the second straight week. In the second quarter, Verlon Biggs reached up and swatted down a Jim Bakken field goal attempt. Mike Bass picked it up at the Cardinals’ 32 and rolled into the end zone. That game the Redskins a 14-0 second quarter lead.

Brown surpassed Don Bosseler’s career mark of 3,112 yards halfway through the second quarter. The home crowd roared as Brown was given the ball.
