Game Recap:

RFK Stadium - Somewhere in the Ironclad Laws of Football, there is one that says that if you hope to upset a superior team, you must take advantage of opportunities when you have them. The 6-1 Vikings were ripe for the plucking, but the Redskins couldn't pull off the upset because they didn't cash in on some golden opportunities.

Faced with a 10-7 deficit, the Redskins drove to the Minnesota 16 and suffered their first blown opportunity after Gary Larsen sacked Jurgensen for a 10-yard loss. Curt Knight missed a 33-yard field goal and the Redskins still trailed by three at the break. The pattern repeated itself throughout the rest of the game.
