Game Recap:

Soldier Field - Sonny Jurgensen threw four touchdown passes, including a 99-yarder to running back Gerry Allen, to help the Redskins outscore the Bears in Chicago.

Washington jumped up 14-0 but the Bears were game. A 43-yard run by Gayle Sayers set up a seven-yard TD run by quarterback Jack Concannon. They were threatening to tie the game when Brig Owens intercepted Concannon at the Washington one. Undaunted by the poor field position, Jurgensen dropped deep into his own end zone and fired a strike to a wide-open Allen at the Washington 31. The back went untouched the rest of the way for the record-tying 99-yard play. The Redskins answered every Bear threat after that.
