| Game Recap: |
|
Pitt Stadium - In a driving rainstorm, Sonny Jurgensen had his worst day of the year, but still managed to find Charlie Taylor for the winning score late in the game.
Trailing 10-8 in the fourth, Jurgensen and Taylor finally started connecting. Faced with a third and seven at the Washington 30, the league’s leading passer found the league’s leading receiver for 16 yards into Steeler territory at the 44. Five plays later, Taylor beat defensive back Bob Hohn for the winning touchdown with just under three minutes left to go. Krause’s third interception shut the door on Pittsburgh.
