Game Recap:

Franklin Field - The Redskins got off to a promising start when rookie John Love took the season-opening kickoff back 96 yards for a touchdown, but the Eagles eventually outgunned Washington to come away with the win.

Love took the kickoff in front of the goal post at the four and found open ground straight ahead. He rolled down the center of the field untouched to give Washington a 7-0 lead 18 seconds into the season.

But Philly’s Tom Woodeschick scored the game’s last two touchdowns to take away the win. The first was a 40-yard burst up the middle on a draw play that totally fooled the Washington defense. That erased a 24-21 Washington lead. In the fourth quarter, he followed up a 68-yard Snead pass to Ben Hawkins by plunging over from the one.
