Yankee Stadium - New York quarterback Earl Morrall, booed and benched earlier in the game for ineffectiveness, returned to the game to throw the winning touchdown pass to Aaron Thomas with just over four minutes to play to defeat the Redskins.
Morrall converted a fourth and eight at the Washington 41 to keep the winning drive alive and finished it off with his pass to Thomas, which came with 4:17 left. Just after the two-minute warning, Charley Taylor was a foot short on a fourth and one rushing attempt and the Giants killed the clock.
