DC Stadium - The Redskins woke up in time to turn a pending rout into a contest, but it wasn't enough to beat the Giants.
It was 17-0 before Washington scored a pair of second-quarter touchdowns to make a game of it. The Redskins had a chance to take the lead after linebacker Carl Kammerer intercepted a Tittle pass at the Washington 35. Anderson made a great catch to move his team into Giant territory at the 39, but a pair of dropped passes killed the drive there.Tittle then moved his team in for the kill. One key pass went to Frank Gifford, the other to Walton for 27 yards and the clinching score.
