Game Recap:

Pitt Stadium - Ralph Guglielmi passed for 235 yards and two touchdowns and Dick James picked off pass to kill a late rally bid as the Redskins upset the Steelers.

Guglielmi pushed the Redskins to a 23-3 lead before James’ late heroics became necessary. Bobby Layne brought his team back, throwing a 33-yard touchdown pass to Darrell Brewster and setting up a second touchdown with a completion to Jimmy Orr that carried to the Washington 27. Leading by just six, the Redskins had to punt the ball back to Pittsburgh with 1:40 left to play. Layne unleashed a long pass intended for Buddy Dial, but James came in and stole the ball away at the Washington 20 to clinch the win for the visitors.
